Although my nails are naturally long, I have never been able to tolerate nail polish. I have been able to tolerate typing with long nails. I used to have an old manual typewriter, and my nails (unpolished) were hard enough to wear grooves in the keys. But whenever I tried to polish them — and keep them polished for, say, a couple of weeks — I would always pay the price. Nothing bad would happen at first, but after a while, my nails would start splitting and chipping and breaking. Every time a new product came along, I would try it, but the results would always be the same. My hairdresser told me about several brands that were supposedly free of things like formaldehyde and acetone, but after having collected a drawerful of bottles, I would always go back to nature. The only polish that actually got used was the clear stuff that I patched my pantyhose with.
When I’m not working, I could care less about makeup, nail polish and such. But I am a professional woman, so I wear makeup to work, and I just don’t feel quite “dressed” without it. A good haircut, a nice business suit, nylons and lipstick all say, “I am meticulous in my grooming and in my job. I care enough about what I do to take it seriously.” But my nails were always whispering in the background, “Hippie chick. . . granola head. . . .” Priti Polish is so good, I now wear it even on my days off. It seems to do what all the other nail polish brands always claimed they would do: that is, keep my nails from breaking and chipping.
I do wish they would sell samples of their colors so you could try them before you buy a whole bottle. And you do have to apply the polish just a little more often than you would with another brand. But, hey, there’s another added bonus with this stuff: it dries really fast! And it still looks good even after you’ve slathered on five or six layers. The remover takes a little getting used to. It isn’t like any nail polish remover you’ve ever smelled. Think essential fragrance oils, only milder. My dog tried to eat it. All in all, this stuff is definitely worth a try, even if your nails aren’t as sensitive as mine!
